Note from the E.D.:  Happy Social Work Month!
Here it is March once again.  Our last issue of the Maryland Social Worker asked you to think about ways you might celebrate Social Work Month at your place of work.  I hope some of you have planned acknowledgements or celebrations and that you will share them with us.  We would love to put pictures or information about your event on our Facebook Fan Page.  I have been involved in a couple of Social Work Month activities so far and we have more coming up.  We started out the month with an appearance on WJZ TV on Monday, Feb. 28th.  We had a group of about 25 hearty souls who showed up at 5:45 with signs celebrating social work and social workers!  I had the opportunity to say a few words about Social Work month and what social workers do and then we sang the Manic Monday song.  It was lots of fun!
To see a  video of our appearance visit WJZ's Manic Monday  page  and look for National Association of Social Workers.

At the end of the month we will be having other social work visibility events around the state.  These will take place on Thursday, March 31st which is our national “Social Work Shout-Out Day”.  We will send out a special email letting you know about the various events so that you may participate!!
