  • Identify community needs, emerging issues or new legal requirements and develop programs and services to respond.
  • Develop new processes to address programmatic, administrative or client needs as they arise and ensure they are synchronized with other agency activities and standards.
  • Serve as a member of JCS’s Senior Management and play an active role in evaluating and setting the agency’s goals
  • Work collaboratively with other agency programs to identify opportunities to collectively strengthen the agency’s programs, services, operational efficiencies, best practices, outreach and develop funding sources.


  • Master’s Degree in Social Work and clinical license required.
  •  Minimum of 5 years’ experience clinical experience; experience with not-for-profit preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ supervisory experience.
  • Strong leadership and analytical skills, which promote collaboration, problem solving, and accountability.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong relationships, build/maintain trust and work with a diverse group of people.
  • Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office and comfortable working new systems.
  • Compassion and understanding of the needs of JCS’s clients.

 Summary:  Provides direct mental health services to patients including evaluation, treatment, and consultation.  The position will also be tasked with a variety of supervisory and administrative responsibilities, with special attention to the assurance of integrated approach to behavioral health services at Mountain Laurel Medical Center, including clinical leadership and administrative supervision of Mountain Laurel Medical Center behavioral health staff, program assessment and development. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Supervises behavioral health employees including Masters level clinical social workers, LCPC’s, clinical pyschologists, behavioral health MA’s, CHW’s and others as directed by Medical Director, Behavioral Health Director, or CMO

2. Develops and oversees integrated behavioral health services at all Mountain Laurel Medical Center sites

3. Assesses effectiveness of overall behavioral health program, including reviewing productivity, impact of interventions on health outcomes, and progress toward goals

4. Assesses and oversees patient needs for behavioral health services at all locations, including educating and coordinating with providers and analyzing data

5. Under direction of Medical Director, Behavioral Health Director, or CMO, provides administrative and clinical supervision to designated staff and trainees including:

  • Helps to set performance expectations and monitor overall performance for employees assigned
  • Clarifies roles for each employee assigned
  • Provides coaching when necessary on an ongoing basis
  • Recognizes positive performance, as well as provides constructive, remedial feedback
  • Conducts annual performance reviews of employees assigned
  • Helps recruit new behavioral health employees as the organizational needs arises
  • Helps create the Mountain Laurel Medical Center Behavioral Health yearly budget
  • Seeks and arranges for educational opportunities that benefit all behavioral health employees
  • Provides clinical supervision as applicable for clinically and degree-related certifications
  • Provides billing supervision as appropriate based on supervisee’s clinical certification
  • Represents Mountain Laurel Medical Center at meetings related to integration of behavioral health
  • Provides direct clinical care to clients and families for mental health services to include screenings, intake assessments, counseling & symptom monitoring
  • Counsels patients on mental illness, personal issues, addiction, and abuse; provides health coaching as appropriate as part of team based plan of care


 The successful candidate will have a demonstrated work record showing good attendance, punctuality, dependability and the ability to work as member of a team with supervisors, providers and other co-workers and to work with the public and medical community at large in an appropriate professional manner. 


Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-C), Psy D, or equivalent.  Minimum five (5) years providing clinical care and/or care coordination to patients and families with mental health needs.  Prior collaborating with physicians and other health care providers, social service agencies, and/or education system.

Strongly Preferred:  LCSW-C with clinical supervision certification and management experience.
